Black Hills were promised to the Native Americans by a treaty. The miners realized that there was gold in those lands and they wanted it. Custer was told to take all the Indians out of the Black Hills. The Indians fought back, hard. There was a battle in Little Bighorn and the Native American’s won. Custer and all of his men died. This is also known as Custer’s Last Stand.
